January is filled with two types
of folks: those who make resolutions and those
who ignore them. Those who make them are planners
and dreamers, and those who ignore them greet
the year with a “toast” rather than
a list. I find value in both. I make a list that
feels doable, and at the same time I celebrate
the unanticipated surprises I will receive during
the New Year.

Looking
ahead to 2002, I try to remember the single most
important practice to focus on in any New Year.
Acceptance. Sometimes it isn’t about changing
your life but slowing down to appreciate and accept
the life you have. It isn’t about the 10 pounds
you have to lose, but the attitude you have toward
them. Acceptance is described as “receiving
(something offered), to regard as true and to agree
to take.” I am not saying that practicing acceptance
is “taking whatever is sent your way. “
Absolutely not! Acceptance is not a passive practice,
but rather a dynamic connection to what you are
consciously bringing to yourself energetically.
Acceptance is the art of receiving. When you are
practicing acceptance you are seeing things for
what they are, not what you want them to be. In
this way you can better assess what really needs
to change.
So when you are making your lists (and believe me,
we are all for lists), remember to start with your
priorities-what you love and everything that is
right in your life. If you build on that, the year
ahead will be about accepting what is important
and already part of your life. Old habits die
hard, but new habits are easy to build if you practice
acceptance. |
Everyone
wants more prosperity and abundance in their lives.

to our divine association with the secrets of money.

resources? “ “What is the mystery associated
with other people’s money and resources?”

and “ownership” as they relate to accessing
