| You and
I are living in the most incredible time
to be alive. Now, more than ever before we have
access to knowledge and information that in the
past would have taken months, perhaps years to find.
Welcome to the Information Age! The Age of Enlightenment!
The Age of Aquarius! |
| "When
the moon is in the seventh house, and Jupiter aligns
with Mars, then peace will guide the planet and
love will steer the stars. This is the dawning of
the Age of Aquarius...." |
| ("Aquarius",
from Hair by Gerome Ragni and James Rado) |
| What
is all this emphasis about the Millennium, and the
Aquarian Age? Just WHAT is it? |
| First
of all, I do not claim to be an expert historian
following material. I am writing this article because
I find this information timely and the research
fascinating. An age lasts approximately 2,160
years. The Ages are a result of the astronomical
phenomenon called the "procession of the
equinoxes." This procession is a backwards
motion of the vernal equinox point. This vernal
equinox point has moved back through the constellation
of Pisces and is now in preparation for its backwards
entrance into the constellation of Aquarius. |
|
There is much speculation about
when the exact date the "Age of Aquarius"
will officially begin. The constellations have
no precise boundaries. The dates of the AGES
are approxiamate.
|
| There
are actually two astrological influences
that mark an AGE. The outer influence
or the primary manifestation and the inner or
secondary influence which provides a backdrop to
the major theme being expressed. The combination
of these two forces is what really marks an AGE. |
Just
as the song above expresses, we are at the dawning
of the AGE of Aquarius. So, the outer
influence of this Age has to do with Aquarian principles.
These principles include: freedom, brotherhood,
humanity and revolution. The Aquarian is the sign
of the Water Bearer as shown here. |
| The
inner or secondary influences have to do with
the opposite sign Leo, the sign of the Lion. Leo
characteristics are courage, optimism, will, love
and peace. |
| This
overall influence was dramatically depicted in the
sixties by the so called "hippie" generation.
The combination of Leo and Aquarian forces produced
beautiful flower children that courageously
wanted freedom, love and peace. This evolved
into a humanistic urge to exert a revolutionary
influence on society. These flower children tried
to persuade governments to stand up and take notice
of the spirit of brotherhood that was crying
out against crimes of war to help bring freedom
to all people. Leo's keyword "I will"
and the Aquarian keyword "I know"
have catapulted us into the age of "The
will to know." |
| "You
say you want a revolution, well you know, we all
want to change the world." |
| (
Beatles 1962 ) |
| "
Now I've been happy lately thinking about the good
things to come and I believe it could be something
good has begun. Oh I've been smiling lately dreaming
about the world as one. And I believe it could be,
someday its going to come. Cuz out on the edge of
darkness there lies the peace train. Peace train
save this country. Come take me home again. |
| (Cat
Stevens 1970) |
| Aquarian
new age music combined with the youthful artistic
influence of Leo, left its revolutionary
influence upon our nations and governments. So what
about the previous ages? Lets take a look. |
| Each
Age receives its name from the sign through
which the sun passes year after year as it crosses
the equator at the vernal equinox. During these
periods or ages, religious worship takes the form
of the astrological sign. From this point of view
it is truly enlightening to look back over these
ages. Here's what I have gathered. |
| The
Piscean AGE |
About
2000 years ago we experienced the birth of Jesus
Christ. Whose name in Greek is (pronounced "IKTHUS")
meaning fish (the symbol for Pisces). This
influence remains today as a symbol of Christianity.
"God fed the multitude with fishes," Jesus
was the "Fisher of Men." Five thousand
people were fed with two small fish and five
loaves of bread. This prophet of the "Fish
Age" selected twelve disciples (Pisces is the
twelfth sign of the zodiac) and made them "fishers
of men." |
| Each
astrological sign has rulership over a part of the
body. Pisces governs the feet. In the bible there
were many ceremonies of "the washing the feet." |
| The
keyword for Pisces is "I Believe."
The keynote of the past two thousand years of Christianaity
is none other than belief: "Believe in the
Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved." |
| The
secondary or opposite sign of Pisces is Virgo,
the sign of the Virgin. The keyword for Virgo is
"I serve." Virgo is depicted by
either the pure woman or the ripe wheat.
Mary's immaculate conception idealized the highest
ideal of purity. The symbolism of the five
loaves above as it relates to the opposite sign
of Virgo is obvious in terms of its ancient and
modern correlation with wheat and bread; bread has
been symbolic of the sign Virgo throughout the centuries.
The bread of Virgo, the chastity depicted
by Mary (the Virgin Mother), and the message of
service are all Virgoan concepts. Service,
sacrificial love and humility are just a few of
the major characteristics of Virgo and Pisces. |
| The
Aryan AGE |
Prior
to the Piecean Age was the Aryan Age. During this
Age the Lamb was held sacred and the priests
were called shepherds. Sheep and goats were sacrificed
upon the altars, and a scapegoat was appointed to
bear the sins of Isreal. The Aryan AGE was signified
bythe slaughter of the lamb. Christ also partook
prophetically of the ending age of Aries, and his
life embraced the message of this sign as well,
"The lamb of God who takes away the sins
of the world." Christ was ending the two
thousand year old practice of slaughtering lambs
and other animals for sacrifice.
|
| Another
prophet led people into the Aryan age by the name
of Moses. He entreated the Israelites to stop worshiping
the golden calf (the Taurean Age) which they
had constructed while he went up on the mount. Moses
also received the keywords of the new Aryan age:
I AM. "I AM hath sent me to you."
|
| The
Taurean AGE |
Lets
go back a little further. During the 2,160 years
the sun was in the constellation of Taurus, it is
said that the Solar Diety assmed the body of Apis
and the Bull became sacred to Osiris. The
Taurean AGE was between 4320-2160 B.C. Its stubborn
reluctance to abate its influence is evidenced,
even to this day, by cow worship in India.
Taurus is a also the sign that denotes money, possessions
and gold: appropriately, we see the Israelites upon
departure from Egypt, borrowing "of the Egyptians
jewels of silver, and jewels of gold." The
bull was properly worshiped at that time being an
emblem of strength necessary to conquer the
material world. The keyword at that time
being "I HAVE."
|
| Aquarius
has a pictorial representation of a man pouring
out a pitcher, and is called " The Water Bearer",
yet Aquarius is not a water sign, but an
air sign with an emphasis on intellect and
communication. Then what could this man be pouring
out of this large urn, if not water? This pouring
out of a substance is symbolic of the "living
waters" describing spiritual nourishment
which "after drinking you will thirst no more"
( John 4:14) |
| With
the age of science we've not only increased our
knowledge in evey field, but we have been able,
with the advanced forms of transportation, to truly
"run to and fro" thoroughout the world
and into outer space. Aquarius is an age when enlightenment
shall replace blind faith and belief. WE are
entering an era when every man, woman and child
can intuitively know; we will be armed with
knowledge that comes from the outpouring of Spirit
by the " sign of the Son of Man in Heaven":
Aquarius. |
| Aquarius
represents that attunement which comes from being
centered in the (K) now. To KNOW is to be
here in the ever-present NOW. The word KNOW
conceals the word NOW (offered as a mnemonic
device, no etymology intended). Those that truly
gain knowledge in life are those adept at focusing
into the NOW with concentration and discipline as
a regular life practice. Folks with short attention
spans usually lack the ability to get firmly grounded
in knowledge. Without the ability to focus and "
be still and know," there is little gained
in any area of knowledge. The psalmist writes
"Be still, and know that I am God." (Psalms
46:10) As well as the pattern on the trestleboard
in the Tarot: "All the power that ever was
or ever will be is here now." |
| Truly,
the increased emphasis being placed on meditation
these days is very indicative of the Aquarian spirit.
The more it is understood and practiced, the better
off we will be. Getting in line with the Aquarian
Age involves having a daily spiritual practice. |
| With
the advent of the internet, Information is truly
here. Now more than ever before, we have
so much information at our hands. There is no reason,
but for lack of will and direction that you should
be kept from freeing yourself and expanding your
Consciousness - to be here now. |
