Six of Hearts

Love, and the balance and law of love, is the energy of this card.  The Six of Hearts has been called the peacemaker and the card of harmony, peace, and stability in love.  Personal relationships and the balance of love and peace between individuals are the primary focus of this card.

They are independent and stable, but seldom swept off their feet by things. They tend to be easy-going and love comfort, ease, and harmony.  They can overcome anything with their deep understanding of the “law of love” and have come to express and teach that to others.

As with all Sixes in the Life Cards, there are the “Responsible Sixes” and those that operate in the lower aspect of the card,  the “Irresponsible Sixes.”   They must abide by what is fair and accurate, and work deeply on understanding who they are and share that with their partner.  Is love enough?  No.  The karma and law of love is deep self-mastery within a relationship with another.

The shadow of this card is their Pollyanna approach that love will heal all things, and that everything will “work out.”  Wanting to be the peacemaker can create a need to simply “move on” and avoid delving into the more difficult aspects of a relationship.

This card desires peace, love, and balance.  The Six of Hearts must embrace their inner demons and acknowledge the problematic aspects of their personalities by being fair in sharing their unique vulnerabilities.  Relationships are not healed only by the love we have for another person, but by the depth at which we are willing to dive into the well of intimacy.

The Six of Hearts day is a day to look at where you need to balance what you love with what you do not love, inside and outside yourself.  Finding peace means looking at the complex parts of yourself and working to create a balance within.  If you are not happy, do not immediately look outward, but rather inward toward what you need to do to love yourself.

Empty your mind, be formless,

shapeless, like water.

If you put water into a cup,

it becomes the cup.

You put water into a bottle,

it becomes the bottle.

You put it into a teapot,

it becomes the teapot. I

f you put water in a teapot,

it becomes the teapot."
