‘Tis The Season To Be: Mindful, Joyful, Grateful, and Wonderful!

 "We miss something

If we don't see

Christmas through

A child's eyes."

~Rosemary M. Wixom

There's something magical about this time of year!  The twinkling of lights, the scent of Christmas trees, and the sounds of joy and laughter spilling out of living rooms.  These are all important reminders that joy can be found in embracing the season's magic.

To be mindful, joyful, grateful, and wonderful is to return to what makes this season so magical in the first place: beauty, simplicity, and community connections.

When we take a moment to slow down, breathe deeply, and truly explore, we begin to notice the small miracles all around us: the kindness of a stranger, the sparkle in a child's eyes, the melody of familiar carols that wrap us in nostalgia, hope, and love.

Mindful: Awareness of  A Season of Magic

In a season where we can find ourselves overshadowed by lists and deadlines, being mindful reminds us to pause — to notice the scents around us, the sounds of music, the coffee mug between your hands. It is in these quiet spaces that we reconnect with what truly matters in this season.  Pause and savor that sweetness.

Joyful: Finding Delight in the Ordinary

Joy doesn't have to come wrapped in glitter or grand gestures. Oftentimes, it is found in a long walk with a friend, watching a street performer, or reading a good book, or sitting outside in the Sun, deep in our thoughts, savoring a few moments to reflect on life.

Sometimes, when we allow ourselves to see the world through a child's eyes, joyful experiences naturally follow.  Joy multiplies when shared.

Grateful: The Art of Appreciation

Gratitude softens the edges of our busy lives. It can remind us that even amidst daily challenges, we are surrounded by blessings: friends who check in, families who love us, and opportunities to give back. When we focus on what we have, everything feels brighter and easier.

Wonderful: Rekindling Awe

To be wonder-full is to let your heart expand with curiosity and imagination. It is to see the world as children do — curious, amazed, open-hearted. It is allowing this awe to take hold when snow falls silently or when candles flicker in the window.

When we see the world with wonder, we are reminded that love is all around us, waiting to be noticed.

So this season, may we unwrap not only gifts but also grace — for ourselves, for others, and for the beautiful, imperfect moments that make life extraordinary.

Through a Child's Eyes

Christmas — and life itself — can be seen through a child's eyes: open, expectant, and full of curiosity. So this year, may we all slow down long enough to feel the season, share the joy, express our gratitude, and let the wonder in. Because truly, 'tis the season to be.
