The Wisdom of the Full Moon & Celebrating the New Year

Full Moon Thursday, January 12th, 2017

Happy New Year!  Mercury went direct this past week, and a Full Moon happens Thursday, January 12th. I feel excited about 2017 and all it will bring!

As I have written in many of my teachings, Full Moon Cycles are Power cycles! This means that whatever you have been focusing on these past two weeks is coming to fruition. It is time to feel the “fullness” of what you have been doing!

The Full Moon will be in the sign Cancer. This sign helps to remind us how to nurture and protect ourselves through the realm of feeling!  You may find yourself “feeling” a lot in these next few days.  That is awesome!  This compelling cycle is about asking yourself what you “really need.”   So, what do you NEED??

The Wisdom of Obstacles

Are you going through a tough time right now?

Do you have an obstacle that seems complicated and difficult? Today’s Teaching is on the “Wisdom of Obstacles.”

What is an Obstacle, and why do we need them?

An obstacle is something that obstructs or hinders any anticipated progress.  An obstacle is a perception that something must be overcome and move through.

Our society supports and rewards achievement and success. To feel that we have achieved, we must have an obstacle to overcome.

Overcoming an obstacle builds character, strength, wisdom, and integrity. These are very profound qualities and very important, as well as essential to self-development.

Full Moon Lunar Eclipse August 18th, 2016

This morning (at 2:26 am PST), we had a Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Aquarius.  If you have planets in Aquarius or Leo, this Eclipse will activate you.  Aquarius's sign is associated with the concepts of humanity, brotherhood, friendship, rebellion, freedom, unconventionality, and being a visionary. Leo is the sign of generosity, leadership, creativity, drama, play, enthusiasm, love, and loyalty.

Today the Full Moon brings with it a Lunar Eclipse. Eclipses are shadow cycles that help provide information about what is happening right now in the shadow.

An Eclipse is a cycle that “dim or hides and conceals,” or to render invisible by eliminating light.   During an eclipse cycle, many things are brought to light and revealed. Also, be aware that some things can remain hidden in the shadows.

It is our responsibility to bring to awareness what shadow issues exist in our lives and work to create more balance in our lives.

Mercury Retrograde In the Sign of Gemini ~ Monday May 17th, 2015 Mercury Direct Thursday June 11, 2015

Mercury, is going Retrograde in the Sign of Gemini on Monday, May 18th (6:50 PM PST) until Thursday, June 11th. Mercury is the planet that is associated with all types of communication, networking, thinking and socializing. It is primarily associated with the mind and everyday mental activity and the more subtle movements within our thoughts as they arise from our feelings.

What is a Retrograde Cycle?

It is a cycle is when any planet that (when viewed from the earth) “appears” to have stopped and is moving backward through the sky. After some time the planet then goes “direct” and is back onto it’s normal path. Every planet retrogrades except the Sun and the Moon. There are about three Mercury retrograde cycles per year.

New Moon Wednesday, July 15, 2015

New Moon Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at 6:30 pm —  Full Moon Friday, July 31, 2015 at 3:43 am

Today we start a New Moon Cycle.  New Moon cycles are the beginning of an Astrological Cycle that happens once a month. New Moon cycles are a great time to “start” a new project or initiate a new behavior or activity.  This cycles occurs when the Sun and the Moon are (both) in the same Astrological Sign.  The Sun and the Moon are in the Astrological sign of Cancer.  This means the Full Moon will be in the opposite sign – Capricorn.   The Full Moon will be on Friday, July 31st.  When the Sun is in Cancer and the Moon is in Capricorn, (its opposite sign), we have a Full Moon.

A New Moon always starts with both the Sun and the Moon in the same sign, and a Full Moon Cycle happens when the Moon is in the opposite sign of the Sun.

What is a New Moon?

Every month we get the opportunity to feel the cycle of the Moon. The New Moon starts the cycle. The best way to work with the moons cycle is to start projects on the New Moon, and finish projects on the Full Moon.
